owl.cs overhaul

Today I finally finished the long overdue re-design of our owl.cs pages, which had previously been maintained by Thomas Schneider. In order to allow us to post more regular updates on the site, we decided to move to a manageable CMS (in our case, WordPress) rather than sticking with the previous solution (PHP files + text editor). I used a fairly standard 3 column WordPress template, which, after some gutting followed by gentle massaging, turned into a neat and very maintainable theme. Thanks to our in-house designer Rina Srabonian, we now also have a mascot in the form of a University of Manchester coloured OWL-owl.

I’m going back to crunching numbers now…
